My First Pair of Red Sea Glass Earrings

Despite getting requests for sea glass earrings, I never seem to get around to making many pairs. The sea glass earrings don't often sell well on Etsy (for whatever reason), but in-person, they seem to do fairly well.

For my show last week, I made it a point to create a few sets of earrings, and one is my very first pair of red sea glass earrings. For those that are not aficionados of sea glass, red is the 2nd rarest on the sea glass color chart. And that makes these earrings a pretty big deal (at least for me...lol)

I also wrapped a beautiful piece of red sea glass for a necklace, and had my DH drill another piece of red to create a 2nd necklace, with a sterling silver dolphin charm.

After going through my sea glass collection, I'm close to having enough same-size pieces to create my first sea glass bracelet. But because of the rarity of the red pieces, I may just use those pieces make more "rainbow" bracelets, or perhaps save them to create a couple of Christmas pieces.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my red earrings don't sell (I placed them in my Etsy shop...lol) so I can keep them for myself. They really are pretty, and they can be worn year-round. Not exactly a summer color, they sparkle brightly in the sunlight and would go with many of my summer outfits. Of course, they'll be great around the holidays, and Valentine's day.

The red sea glass earrings and wrapped red sea glass necklace can be found in my Etsy shop. The red necklace with dolphin charm is for sale at the Gold Duster in Barnegat, NJ.

'til next time...
